How to Download and Install McAfee on PC

Here are the steps to download and install the McAfee security program on your PC:

Step 1: Sign in to the McAfee website

Head to mcafee.com/activate on a web browser.
Make sure to open the above link on the system that you want to protect via McAfee.
Head to My Account.
Press on Sign In.
Now enter the following:
The email address of your mcafee.com/activate key code account.
The account password of your McAfee account.
Navigate to Log in for mcafee.com/activate key code.

Choose the following when asked:
1. Your device type mcafee.com/activate key code
1. McAfee product in which you are interested.
Tap Download for mcafee.com/activate key code.
Go throughout the License Agreement and then accept it.
Note down the serial number appeared on the screen in a separate and safe place. You may see this after a while.
1. Note: Make sure not to close the browser tab so that your product serial number will always remain visible.

To install the downloaded McAfee security, please see the instructions mentioned down here:

Open the Downloads directory of the system.
Now open the McAfee installation file by double-clicking on the downloaded file. (The file extension is .exe)
Once the installer is launched, follow the instructions mentioned on the screen to complete the installation.
When the installation completes, close the installer window.

Explore an internet browser on your device in which you have installed the McAfee.
Visit www.mcafee.com/activate.
Now choose the country and language when asked to do so.
Now enter the following details:
1. Your product activation code located on the McAfee retail card.
1. Your registered Email ID.
Press on Submit.
When asked, ensure that your Email Address is entered correctly. In case you typed incorrect email address:
1. Press on Edit to edit the incorrect email id.
1. Now edit your email ID.
Press on Verify.
The product is now activated successfully.

Navigate to an internet browser and then follow the mcafee.com/activate URL.
In the McAfee activate website, head to My Account, and then navigate Sign In.
Enter your McAfee Sign-In credentials.
Press on Log-In.
In My Apps, choose McAfee Internet Security.
Press on McAfee Activate Enter Code inside the Protect all your devices.
Now make sure the option saying I’ve read and accept the McAfee License Agreement is selected.
If you see a serial number inside the Download button, write Mcafee 25 digit activation code down in a safe place. In the activation process, you might need it.

NOTE: The generated serial number is valid only for the next two hours, and you have to activate the program in that period.

Press Download. The McAfee antivirus installation file will be available on the default Download location.

Find out the McAfee-MacInstaller-x.x.dmg file in the default Downloads folder of your Mac.
Once the file is located, you have to open Mcafee 25 digit activation code by performing a double-click on it.
To install the program safely and without any issues terminate all running internet browsers at the time of installation(Safari and Chrome).
Now locate the file named McAfee-MacInstaller icon and make a double-click on it to trigger the installation.
If asked, then do not hesitate to provide your Mac’s administrator credentials.
Now enter the Serial Number that we noted down at the time of Download. Now you have to wait until the system downloads the McAfee package, scans your system, and begins the installation of the McAfee product.
Now when then installation completes, you will have to activate your software. You can do so by perusing the on-screen steps and finally press Finish.
