How to find the McAfee security version number on Windows

Summary

It is useful to know which version of McAfee security software for Windows is installed on your PC. For example, our Technical Support agents require specific version numbers to help you with troubleshooting.

Your McAfee security software for Windows looks similar to one of the pictures below. To find the version of your product, use the steps below the relevant picture:

  Find your version with these steps:
   
  1. Double-click the M icon in the Notification area in the lower right of your screen, or the M shortcut on your desktop.
  2. On the home screen of your security software, click My Info.
  3. Click About at the bottom of the screen. The About box displays the versions of the installed products in your McAfee software.
  4. Review the contents of the About box.

The About box contains version information for the McAfee security software components installed on your PC. Compare this version information with the versions shown in the table below.

• If you do not see the About box after a few moments, try moving the McAfee home screen. The About box might be hidden behind the active window.  
• Not all products shown in the table are included. Only the products installed on your system appear in the list. Products that are not listed can be installed later.
